Thanks for Joining and/or Coming to the December Meeting

For those that attended the meeting, thank you for coming out in such weather as that we had last night. It was fairly brutal and we had a very good turn out considering both the weather as well as this being the first group meeting. For those of you that did not attend, we discussed the overall vision of MNPHP as a user group and were it might lead. We also had Sebastian Bergmann as a guest speaker who generously gave of his time and gave a talk on "The State of QA Tools for PHP".

Looking forward, we want the vision of MNPHP to be that of a communities vision. Remember, this is not a single persons user group and we would like to have several people involved in many different areas and volunteering where possible. This can mean a wide variety of things such as helping to organize one night, suggesting presentations that you would like to talk about, giving overall ideas that others may be able to speak about and overall participating in the group. I will be posting the document of overall MNPHP vision (ideas and notes) as I would like this group to be founded on community and transparency. Look for this in the coming month.

Currently, several topics were talked about that people had ideas on, if you had ideas and/or would like to talk about them, please post them on the meetup as an idea. When you are logged in, click on Calendar and then on top of the calendar there is a link to post an idea. The direct link is: http://www.mnphp.org/calendar/suggest/

Last but not least, the plan at the moment is that we will be meeting the First Thursday of every month starting January 7th. It is the hope that we will have solidified the topics for the next meeting in the next week.

Regards,

Mike Willbanks
