Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Software Engineer to join our growing staff. The objective of this
position is to analyze, develop, create and modify web-based software solutions to meet
organizational needs, including solutions for product offerings and support for back-office needs.


1. Defines and creates software based on business needs and requirements.

2. Creates unit tests for developed software to support quality assurance.

3. Creates documentation to support the development of software (requirements, design
documents, testing document, etc.).

4. Provides support to others in the organization concerning operation or maintenance of
software.

5. Provides back-up support for others in technology team as need arises.

6. Keeps manager informed of important developments, potential problems, and related
information necessary for effective management. Coordinates/communicates plans and
activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.

7. Performs related work as apparent or assigned.


Experience and Qualifications:

: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, technology, or related
field. Certification by Zend or MySQL preferred.
: 3-5 years of experience in computer science, technology or position of similar
responsibilities.
: Experience developing with web-based technologies
o PHP 5 and Zend Framework
Strong knowledge of OOP
Strong knowledge of Web Services
o MySQL or Oracle or PostgreSQL
o XML, (X)HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Strong knowledge of JQuery
o Experience with Subversion or CVS
o Experience with Linux
: Experience working in high availability environments.
: Experience with smartphone development preferred.
: Strong self-starter with a record of success.
: Strong collaboration and teambuilding skills.
: Excellent organizational and planning skills.
: Ability to cope with the rapid pace and constant change associated with the industry.
: Ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously.
: Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with personnel and outside
contacts.

This position is with the company that I work for. I want to let you know that PHP 4 does not support Zend Framework and the role will require a very strong knowledge of PHP 5 OOP specifically that of SPL and design patterns which are utilized extensively within our architecture.
